Ewan was born in an interracial family. His father was an American with Scottish descent and his mother was Korean. His family was pretty well-off, he admitted it. Life was a little boring, at least to Ewan's liking. Being a perfect older brother and an eldest son who's good at anything he ever learned made him lose his passion for quite literally everything. That, until his family went to Korea and settled down there when he was 17. Maybe they did realize that their son was trapped in the boredom of repetitive days. In Korea, Ewan met a person, dare he say that he was special? He changed the way Ewan thought about this world and gave him new hopes and dreams through their shared music, through their budding love that eventually bloomed and wilted. Wilted, yet still very much alive for Ewan.

O2. The Black Hour.

The Black Hour, a 250 square feet record shop located in Sinheung, Seoul. That dimly lit room filled with medium sized shelves full of CDs, vinyls, cassettes, and sometimes magazines about obscure artists. Posters and polaroids adorned the dark wood wall, the scent of old papers, aged vinyls and faint burnt cigarettes filled the air. In the corner of the shop there was a listening station with a turntable and speaker. On the second floor there was an apartment where Ewan lived. Off limits. Because of the touristy street, although the shop wasn't located inside the Shinheung art market, The Black Hour had steady customer flows and a few regulars. Some days there were less people, the other days even more visited.Ewan managed everything alone, though it wasn't always the case. When he was 20, a special someone with a spontaneous tendency suggested that they should open a record shop for fun. That way they could share their favorite music to the wider audience. At that time Ewan laughed. He laughed, yet The Black Hour opened a year later. Thanks to his connections in Korea and America that he easily resourced indie musicians' albums, limited edition LPs and merchandise from big or less known names, be it local or imported depending on the customer's requests. The first couple of years were great, but the love they had slowly turned into something painful. The Black Hour remained there, along with Ewan's love for him who ran away from their home seasons ago.
